SIKESTON-Route D in Shannon County will have periodic closures and flagger-controlled work zones as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform multiple culvert replacements.
This section of roadway is located from Route 106 to Route 19. A work zone will be set up at each culvert location, and the entire section of roadway will not be impacted simultaneously.
Work will begin on the west end of Route D and will move east toward Route 19.
Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
As work is underway at each location, both eastbound and westbound traffic will be stopped by an automated flagger. The maintenance crew will allow traffic through the work zone at an appropriate time. A 16-foot width restriction will be in place within the work zones.
The duration of the temporary closures will be dependent on the current stage of the culvert replacement process. Motorists should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes, if possible.
The work zones will be marked with signs, and automated flagger assistance devices will be in use. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
