Harlin Museum Announces Upcoming Photography Show

The Harlin Museum is pleased to announce the opening of its Annual Photography Show, which will be held from February 15 to March 15, 2025. The competition is open to all photographers, and we invite you to participate by submitting your work for consideration.

Submission Dates and Hours
Entries will be accepted Thursday through Sunday, February 6-9, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Harlin Museum of West Plains, located at 405 Worcester Ave, West Plains, MO 65775. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Entry Fees
● 1st Entry: $20
● 2nd Entry: $15
● 3rd Entry: $10
● 4th Entry: $5
● 5th Entry: Free
Photographers may submit up to five (5) photographs. Please make checks payable to the Harlin Museum.

Categories
There will be three (3) entry categories:
● Monochrome Photographs
● Color Photographs
● Collages/Manipulated Photographs

Prizes
● Best of Show: $100
● 1st Place (each category): $75
● 2nd Place (each category): $50
● 3rd Place (each category): $25

Entry Requirements
● All submissions must be original works created by the photographer.
● Photographs must not have been previously exhibited at the Harlin Museum’s Photography Show.
● All photographs must be matted (and preferably framed under glass) or printed on wrapped canvas.
● Size limitations: Minimum 8” x 10” and Maximum 24” x 30” (including matting).
● Photographs must be ready to hang with wire and eye-screws. No saw-tooth hangers will be accepted.
● Entries with provocative nudity or violence will not be permitted.

Sales and Commission
Photographers may offer their work for sale during the show. The museum will charge a 30% commission on any sales made. Additionally, the museum may use photographs for advertising purposes or on social media platforms.

Reception and Award Ceremony
A meet-and-greet reception for the photographers and their guests will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The award ceremony will take place at 3:30 PM, followed by the release of the photographs.

For those unable to attend the reception, photographs may be picked up at the museum during normal operating hours (Thursday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM) the following week.

The Harlin Museum is proud to serve as the principal repository of South Central Ozarks artwork and cultural artifacts. We host various exhibitions throughout the year, and we encourage you to bring family and friends to enjoy the current show and explore our regional collections. The museum is supported entirely by community volunteers and donations.
