The West Plains Zizzers took on the Branson Pirates tonight, Friday, February 14, 2025.
The game starts off tough for the West Plains Zizzers, the Branson pirates automatically getting a decent lead, scoring 10 points to the Zizzers 1. By the halfway mark, the score still hadn’t changed. The Zizzers are dominated early and hard by the Pirates, struggling to catch up through the whole first quarter. The first quarter ends with Branson in the lead, 18 to 5.
The second quarter starts out much like the first, Branson leads, keeping the ball under there arm, with West Plains dragging their feet. With 5 minutes left of the quarter the score is at 23 to 8. The Zizzers score another point, bringing the Pirates’ lead to only 15 points, with a score of 25 to 10. The game starts to pick up, both teams getting points in rapid succession. bringing the score to 36-17. The first half of the game ends after an exciting second quarter with Branson leading 40 to 26.
The third quarter starts with both teams refreshed and ready. The Branson pirates steal the ball keeping it from the Zizzers, taking their lead to 20 points, the score 50 to 30. Both teams play well in the third quarter but with an unfortunate start to the game, the Zizzers have trouble closing the gap, Branson still in the lead by the end of the third, 64 to 39.
The fourth quarter goes fast, the whole game finishing much like the rest of the game went. Both teams score but the Branson Pirates stay in the lead, ending the game with the win, 80 to 56.
The Zizzers will play again on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 against Marshfield. The game starts at 7:00 pm with it airing on 102.5 kkdy.
