[West Plains, MO] – The Ozark Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) is celebrating a milestone year in 2024, with record-breaking numbers on its Economic Impact Report. Over the past year, OzSBI dedicated 870 hours to working with 243 unique business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, providing essential support that led to the successful launch of 18 new businesses.
OzSBI’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship extended beyond its headquarters, as the team traveled throughout its seven-county service region. A particularly strong connection was established with the Ava Chamber of Commerce and its local businesses. Additionally, OzSBI expanded its free Smart Start: Developing a Successful Business workshop to Douglas County, alongside its monthly local offerings. This workshop has played a crucial role in guiding small business owners through the first steps of business planning and financial management. In total, 61 workshops and events were held throughout the year, drawing 1,160 attendees.
One of OzSBI’s annual goals is to assist the entrepreneurial workforce with the creation of sustainable jobs through the growth of their businesses. Last year, 84 new jobs were created by businesses that OzSBI assisted. Additionally, OzSBI clients generated a gross revenue of $24,020,639 in the most recent full year and paid an average of $2,139,745 in monthly salaries and wages to employees. We also welcomed 6 new businesses into the incubator including , Caliber Counseling, Investors Choice Property Management, Alpha Realty, Travel by Rachel, and Bridges Legal Service and MERS Goodwills.
Looking ahead to 2025, OzSBI aims to build on this success by continuing to support the development of strong businesses and encouraging new ideas and innovation throughout the Ozarks.
