The St. Louis Cardinals fell apart in the final two innings of a 6-5 Spring Training loss to the Houston Astros at CACTI Park. The Cardinals led 5-3 entering the bottom of the eighth before Michael Gomez gave up two runs to blow the save. Ryan Loutos surrendered the game-winning run in the next inning to get charged with the loss. Sonny Gray gave up three home runs in two-and-two-thirds innings, while Luken Baker and Jose Barrero each went deep. St. Louis dropped to 5-and-7 in exhibition play. The Royals earned another exhibition win after topping the Seattle Mariners 9-6 in Surprise. Michael Lorenzen started the game and struck out three while allowing one run over three innings pitched. Kris Bubic was credited with the victory after striking out two and allowing three runs over two and two-thirds innings of relief. MJ Melendez and Joey Wiemer each went deep. Kansas City is now 7-and-4 and will continue Cactus League play when it visits the Chicago Cubs tonight in Mesa.
