The West Plains Senior Center, in partnership with SeniorAge, was awarded an Urgent Need Grant from Ozark Food Harvest in August 2024. This grant provided critical funding to support the center’s efforts to serve a growing number of Older Adults in the community.
With attendance increasing, the center found itself serving more desserts than ever before. However, the existing storage space was no longer sufficient to accommodate the additional food. The grant allowed the center to purchase a 3-door commercial refrigerator, ensuring adequate storage space for desserts and other food items.
This new refrigerator enhances the center’s ability to store food safely and continue providing fresh, high-quality desserts to Older Adults who visit. Staff at the center expressed deep appreciation for Ozark Food Harvest’s generosity and ongoing commitment to supporting local seniors.
Through partnerships like this, Ozark Food Harvest helps ensure that senior centers across the region can meet the nutritional needs of Older Adults while fostering a welcoming environment for social connection and community support.
