The Royals dropped another close one Wednesday night, falling to the White Sox 6-5 in Chicago. Bobby Witt Junior gave Kansas City life with a two-run homer in the ninth, but the comeback came up short as the Royals lost for the fifth time in seven games. Seth Lugo allowed five runs over five innings. Lugo recorded his 1,000th career strikeout. Kansas City managed just five hits in the loss. The Royals drop into a three-way tie for last place in the division with Minnesota and Detroit. They play in Chicago again tonight.
