Memorial Services for Barbara May Kahre, Age 100 of Charleston, West Virginia (formerly of Willow Springs, Missouri) will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at The Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri, beginning at 1:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 12-Noon. Interment will be in The Willow Springs City Cemetery, Willow Springs, Missouri. Barbara May Kahre (nee Pratt), age 100, died May 12, 2026, at The Arthur B. Hodges Center of the Edgewood Summit retirement community in Charleston, West Virginia.
She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, the fourth of five children of Charles H. and Bertha M. Pratt. Her 1948 marriage to Edward L. Kahre, a US Navy sailor who later became a high school mathematics teacher, took her many places, including their 46-year stay in the Willow Springs, Missouri area. In 2011, she moved to Edgewood Summit.
Survivors include son, Jim Kahre (Debbie) of Hurricane, West Virginia; granddaughters, Sarah Kahre of Tallahassee, Florida, and Laura Kahre of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Mary Kahre of Mount Vernon, Missouri; and nieces and nephews in seven states
