According to a probable cause statement, Deputy Kyle Holloway was conducting a well‑being check on State Route ZZ around 9 p.m. when a silver Kia pulled up and the driver, Laramie Quinten Harris, abruptly braked and got out of the vehicle. The deputy reported a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes, noting Harris admitted he had been drinking.

“Yes, I have,” Harris told the deputy when asked if he had consumed alcohol.

When the deputy attempted to arrest him for DWI, Harris refused to comply, pulled away, and repeatedly resisted efforts to place him in handcuffs. The report states Harris pushed a deputy, swatted at officers’ hands, and at one point fell into a ditch with a deputy during the struggle.

Harris “rolled over on top of Deputy Hambleton, shoving him into the ground,” the statement says.

Deputies say Harris grabbed a set of handcuffs and continued resisting until a corporal deployed a Taser, allowing officers to regain control. A preliminary breath test later showed a 0.130 BAC. Harris was transported to Ozarks Healthcare after claiming he could not feel his lower body, though deputies reported he continued moving, yelling, and striking the patrol car cage during transport.

Harris is charged with felony resisting arrest, two counts of third‑degree assault on a special victim, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and several traffic violations. He was booked into the Howell County Jail his bond is set at $50,000.
