Jimmy Dean Johnson, 83 years, 4 months, 14 days old, passed away on June 5, 2026, at his home. His family was by his side.
Jimmy was born January 22, 1943, in Smallett, Missouri, to Monte Lester and Reba Geneva (Bunyard) Johnson.
Jimmy graduated from Ava High School in 1962. After high school he went to Illinois and worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and then returned to his home. He was able to purchase his family farm that was a century farm. Jimmy was quite a cattle farmer and he also loved horses. He believed in hard work from sun up till sundown. He was devoted to his family.
He was baptized at 12 years old in Springcreek and attended the old Walnut Grove church. He loved the Lord.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Toni Yost; and his brother, Jack Johnson.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Kayla Turner and Krystina Younglove; his siblings, Joan McKnight, Jerry Johnson and his wife, Joan, Janice Barnes, Judy Chaffee, Jeanetta Silvey, and Joe Johnson; many nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
