In an amazing display of grace, Rosalie Tucker Wisehart experienced a brief reprieve from dementia while she battled liver cancer. Only three weeks after the disease was discovered, she passed peacefully on June 8, 2026.

In those final days, she was able to recognize and greet her daughters, siblings, and grandchildren, and lovingly reach out to embrace her beloved husband of 71 years, Joe. Those moments were a precious gift to all who were able to share them.

Rosalie lived just shy of her 89th birthday. She was born on August 17, 1937, in Couch, Missouri, the first of seven children born to Olon and Nevia Tucker.

She was preceded in death by two of her siblings, Richard Dale Tucker, who passed in 2006 and Janet Louise Alford who passed in 2025. She is survived by her sisters, Carol Ann (Larry) and Mary Kay (Marlin) and brothers Bob (Gina) and Joe Dan (Carrie), who reside in Missouri and Arkansas.

She was also dearly considered a sister to her husband’s younger brother, Wayne (Sharon) Wisehart of Asheville, North Carolina, who first met her at the age of 10 when his brother married her. Another brother-in-law, Dewey Wisehart, preceded her in death in 2016.

Rosalie and Joe were married in 1955 in the basement of the Free Will Baptist Church, while the upstairs sanctuary was still under construction. Early in their marriage, Rosalie assisted her father in the Oregon County Tax Collection office, while Joe hauled milk for the Thayer plant.

Their first daughter, Rhonda Jo, was born in August of the following year, 1956. They later welcomed Linda Gayle in 1960 and Beverly Kay in 1971.

Rosalie worked at the Sears & Roebuck catalog store and later owned her own clothing shop, The Other Place, a business she claimed was necessary to clothe three daughters.

In time, the legacy of Rose and Joe continued to grow. Rhonda married Jim, Linda married Leo, and Beverly married Lance. They were blessed with seven grandchildren—Timothy (Regina), Chapin (Talya) Emily (Joel),  Kimberly (Josh), Cameron (Zoe), Tristen (Emma), and Ayden (Shiloh)—and a growing number of great-grandchildren: Huck, Jackson, Truman, Eliza Bea, Amelia, Elijah, Charlie Rose, Ella Rose, Lucy and Maisie.

In one of her final conversations, Rose reflected that her family was “just perfect.” Above all, she longed simply to “see the children”, a testament to the deep love she held for each of them.

Rose graduated from Couch High School in 1955 and lived in Thayer until she and Joe retired and moved to Willard, Missouri, in 1998. In 2017, she moved to the home of her dreams, complete with an airstrip, where she kept a watchful and supportive eye on Joe’s love of flying.

As her health declined, she moved in May to Lake Parke Senior Living in Camdenton. This proved to be a blessing, as she was tenderly cared for in her final days by the compassionate staff of Lake Parke and Compassus Hospice.
