Regina M. Coatney

Regina Marilyn Coatney, a resident of Pomona, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, while at her home with her family by her side. Regina was born July 11, 1954, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Wendell Keith and Marjorie “Lou” (Orr) Hershaw, Sr. and was 71 years old.

Regina attended Cabool High School and graduated in 1972. On November 5, 1976, she enlisted in the United States Army where she trained and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and obtained the rank of SP4 in 1978. After being honorably discharged, she went to work as an LPN at the Willow Springs Medical Clinic for a period of time. She then worked for several years as a Pharmacy Assistant at Ferguson Drug Store. She then went to back to work as an LPN for Phoenix Home Healthcare until she retired. On July 7, 1984, she was married to Rex Lee Coatney at Noblett Lake. She was a devout Christian and she and Rex attended Trinity Baptist Church. In 2012, they both started attending Pomona Christian Church, until she was unable to attend due to health reasons. She had many enjoyments in her life; however, she enjoyed being outdoors with all it had to offer, especially camping. Regina will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Regina was preceded in death by her father, Wendell and her daughter, Darcie Coatney.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Lee Coatney of Pomona; her mother, Lou Lawrence of Florida; brother, Keith Hershaw of Virginia; sisters, Bonnie Hinderks (Ron) of Stewartsville, Missouri, and Jenny Farr (Kevin) of Springfield, Missouri; her children, Sunni Fine (Jason), MaryKaye Caudle (Steve), Lee Coatney (Julie), Margie Hoskins (Robbie), Tyson Coatney (Julie), and Carlos Coatney. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews further survive.

A celebration of life for Regina will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC.
