Accident in Douglas County Injures Springfield Man

A 73‑year‑old Springfield man was injured Friday afternoon in a two‑vehicle crash on Highway 76, about two miles west of Arno in Douglas County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. when a 2016 Ford Fusion driven eastbound by a 42‑year‑old woman from Ava struck a 2018 Can‑Am Spyder that was stopped in the roadway preparing to make a turn. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

The driver of the Spyder, a 73‑year‑old man from Springfield, suffered minor injuries. He was wearing a safety device and was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

The Ava Rural Fire Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
