A Celebration of Life Service for Katy Kareus, Age 52 of Hartville, Missouri Will be held on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 at The Hartville Free Will Baptist Church under the direction of The Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Hartville, Missouri, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Katy Suzanne Kareus passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2026, due to heart and respiratory issues. She was born on July 25, 1973, to Leroy and Janey Kareus in Phoenix, AZ. She graduated from Chaparral High School Class of ‘91 in Scottsdale, AZ. She married Jerry Rose in April, 1995 in Scottsdale. The marriage was dissolved some years later, but Jerry remained in her life and they were great friends.
Katy is survived by Jerry Rose and their four children, Olivia, Hunter, Destiny (Jimmy), Katrina, and four grandchildren, Selena, Jordan, Elijah and Tobias. She is also survived by her mother, Janey Kareus, who lives in Scottsdale, sister Kristin Kareus of Troup, Texas, and her children, Logan (wife Tory), Alexis, Madison, Lucas, Blake and Skylar; many cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy and daughter, Ashley.
She was proficient in sign language, loved her dogs, music, cars, and most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was active with Celebrate Recovery and her church, Hartville Free Will Baptist. She is and will be missed by all who knew her – a very special person who had a strong but loving and caring personality, We love you, Katy; you left us much too soon!!
