Graveside Services for Reva McClain, Age 82 of Cabool, Missouri will be held in The Cabool Cemetery, Cabool, Missouri, beginning at 11:30 AM. Visitation will precede the service at The Elliot-Gentry Carder Funeral Home, Cabool, Missouri, beginning at 10:00 AM. Contributions may be made to the First Day Church or to the Wedgewood Country Club c/o the funeral home
Reva Pearl (Bowen) McLain, 82, of Cabool, Missouri was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday June 26, 2026. Reva was born November 17, 1943, to Raymond Edward and Alta Marie (Means) Bowen in Willow Springs, Missouri.
She graduated from Cabool High School in 1961.
Reva was united in marriage to Orval Dean McLain on July 15,1960 at First Freewill Baptist Church in Cabool, Missouri.
Reva lived most of her life in Cabool. She worked at the Brown Shoe Company for many years. She was the school nurse at Cabool Schools and then transferred to the Superintendent’s Office where she was the secretary to numerous school Superintendents until 2003. Not one to sit around after retirement, she worked at the El Imperial Restaurant in Cabool, the Cabool Pharmacy, and the Good Graces Pharmacy in Willow Springs.
Reva was a member of The Birthday Club that provided her social enrichment. Reva was an avid golfer with the Wedgewood Ladies Golf League at Wedgewood Country Club and had the privilege to golf at many other golf courses around the country. She enjoyed time with her family and watching her children compete in sports throughout their high school years. Later in life, she enjoyed watching her grandkids and great grandkids compete in sports and celebrate their academic accomplishments.
She enjoyed tending to her gardens throughout the years and talking to her flowers daily.
Reva was preceded by her parents, Raymond and Alta Bowen; her husband of 32 years, Orval D. McLain; her son, Michael Dean McLain; her younger brother, Billy Bowen; twin infant siblings and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Sue (McLain) Van Genderen and husband, Stephen of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Chastin Dean McLain and wife, Alexia of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Chelsea Lynn (McLain) Rigdon of Marshfield, Missouri, Brianna McLain (Van Genderen) Lugo and husband, Ian of Orlando, FL and Kyler Gerret Van Genderen and girlfriend, Jolie Rizzo of Orlando, FL; sisters, Nealma Masengill Lawler (Kenny Lawler) of Willow Springs, Betty Dorrell of Springfield, Sharlet Bowen (Mike Bowersox) of Willow Springs and sister-in-law, Olive Bowen of Willow Springs. Plus, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Reva was a great grandmother to nine: Addilyn, Colton, Coen and Loess of Mtn. Grove and Erilynn, Adalia, Huxley, Niylah, and Flora of Marshfield
