Mary Ellen Perry, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Mary Ellen Perry was born on January 4, 1944, in Moody, Missouri, to Robert “Bob” Robinson and Bertha Ellen Broyles Robinson. After the passing of her father, her mother remarried to George Morton Farel who raised her as his own. She went on to care for Mort and Berthy until their passing.

On December 23, 1961, she married the love of her life, Lewis Perry, and together they shared more than six decades of marriage, building a life centered on family, hard work, and love.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Lewis Perry; her children, David Perry (Regina Perry), Wendy Perry (Kami Anderson), and Traci (Wheat) Yawars (Tad Yawars). She was a proud grandmother to Bailey Perry and Jon Perry (Maddi Perry), and a cherished great-grandmother to Rory Perry and Layla Perry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Robinson and Bertha Ellen Broyles Robinson; stepfather George Morton Farel; her sisters, Phyllis and Beulah; and her brothers, Dane, Dale, and Charley.

Mary was well known throughout her community for her years of service as the school secretary at Glenwood School, where she touched the lives of countless students, parents, and faculty members. She was a friendly face, a helping hand, and a steady presence for many years.

A passionate gardener, Mary was a proud member of the Master Gardeners Club for many years and found great joy in tending her flowers and spending time outdoors. Her gardens reflected the beauty, patience, and care she brought to every aspect of her life. She also loved birdwatching and could often be found admiring the many birds from her kitchen window. Mary enjoyed exploring nature and often went hiking through the woods, where she delighted in searching for fossils, unique rocks and feathers to add to her collection. When she wasn’t outdoors you could either find her working a puzzle or cooking because as many who loved her know she would make sure everyone was full at all times.

Mary enjoyed capturing life’s special moments with her iPad, taking countless photographs of family gatherings, flowers in bloom, beloved pets, and everyday memories that brought her happiness. She was a devoted dog lover and welcomed many cherished canine companions into her home throughout the years.

Above all else, Mary loved her family. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and created a home filled with warmth, kindness, and lasting memories. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the family members whose love, dedication, and countless hours of care made it possible for Mary to remain in the comfort of her own home throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Their unwavering support, patience, and compassion allowed her to be surrounded by familiar surroundings and the people she loved most, a gift that meant more than words can express. Although this is a difficult time, the family takes comfort in knowing that God has restored her mind, and she is no longer struggling with Alzheimer’s. As we grieve her loss, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find peace in knowing that Mary is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her memory will be treasured.
