A Licking man and his passenger were injured Monday night in Phelps County after their vehicle struck a deer and overturned on Highway J, north of County Road 6450.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 55‑year‑old driver of a 2016 Buick Encore was southbound when the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m.

Both he and a 66‑year‑old female occupant, also from Licking, sustained minor injuries. Phelps Health Ambulance transported them to Phelps Health for treatment.
