Ray was tough, strong willed, and determined. He never gave up, stayed positive through life’s challenges, and was always willing to help anyone, anytime. He drove a semi for most of his life, traveling wherever the road led him.
In his youth, Ray met Terri when they were just 12 years old. As life often does, it led them in separate directions, but Ray spent 30 years looking for her. Their dream came true when they were married on July 12, 2014, at the church next door to their house. They had just celebrated their 12th anniversary on July 12, 2026.
Ray was devoted to his family, children, grandchildren, and especially to his beautiful wife, Terri, who was his world. He loved woodworking, classic rock and roll music, and his country. A strong Christian and a good person to all, Ray never met a stranger. He was known for his kindness, his work ethic, and the strength he showed in every season of life.
Ray’s truck dog, Piper, traveled with him across the country, wherever the road led them. He was the hardest worker and strongest man Terri ever knew. As Ray knew his time was drawing near, he continued to fight to spend every possible moment with his family, to enjoy life, and to celebrate the life he had shared with Terri and those he loved right up to his final moments.
Ray was jokingly known as “Mr. Marvelous” because every time his name was called at the doctor’s office and the nurses asked how he was doing, he would respond, “Marvelous.” That answer became his nickname and reflected the spirit he carried with him.
One of Ray’s most meaningful gifts, along with his love, to Terri, was a beautiful song he wrote for her and had put to music, leaving her with something she can cherish for eternity.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Terri; daughter, Angelina Marsillo; son, James Lantz & and his fiancé Sarah Dare; mother, Vesta Bennett; sister, Tammy Bennett; niece, Bree Bennett; nephew, Gabriel Bennett; granddaughters Samantha Lantz, Ember Lantz, Jemma Lantz, & Harper Lantz; grandsons Gaige Logan & Colten Logan; as well as many friends.
No formal services will be held. In keeping with Ray’s wishes, he and his family celebrated his life together before his passing.
