Ava Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A 47‑year‑old Ava man suffered serious injuries early Sunday after his motorcycle left Route K and overturned about five miles south of Seymour.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:35 a.m. as the southbound 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan traveled off the roadway, overturned, and ejected the rider.

Troopers say the man, who was wearing a safety device, sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Ed’s Towing.

The rider was the only person involved in the crash.
