A Dora man was seriously injured in a single‑vehicle crash early Monday on County Road CC, about five miles west of West Plains.
The Highway Patrol reports the 45‑year‑old was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound just after midnight when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. The SUV crossed the center line, ran off the right side of the road, and struck an electric pole.

The driver was flown by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield.
