Degase thanked the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office staff for supporting his mission, as well as his wife, Alicia, and the rest of his family for understanding the demands of his work. He also expressed appreciation to Douglas County residents who have supported him since he became sheriff.

Degase will now advance for consideration for the VFW’s national Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award.
