The downtown parklet is getting a new home on Aid Avenue after Downtown Vendors & Arts requested the move. Officials say concerns raised about the previous location were taken seriously, and several changes have been made. The parklet will be placed well away from the crosswalk to maintain clear sight lines and will occupy an underused loading zone, meaning no parking spaces will be lost.
Downtown Vendors & Arts plans to furnish and decorate the space, creating a small gathering spot between a coffee shop and a deli. Staff say they will continue listening to feedback and make adjustments as needed to support improvements that benefit the community.
