A 75‑year‑old man from St. Charles drowned Saturday on the North Fork of the White River, about five miles south of Dora. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident involved a 12‑foot fiberglass kayak that later capsized after the man experienced a medical emergency while traveling south on the river.
Troopers report the man lost consciousness as the kayak overturned. First aid was administered at the scene until he was pronounced deceased at 4:26 p.m. by Dr. Kepperman with Air Evac 1.
