Edward Thomas Taylor, son of Jeanette “Eva” (Liotta) Taylor and the late William Taylor, born June 12, 1952, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, departed this life July 26, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 14 days.
Edward’s early life was marked by frequent moves across the country as the son of a career military man. His family eventually put down roots on a farm in Richland, Missouri, and he went on to graduate from Stoutland High School in 1970.
On June 30, 1970, Edward proudly enlisted in the United States Army, completing his initial service on February 22, 1972. He reenlisted on May 4, 1978, continuing his military career until February 7, 1983. After concluding his service, Edward transitioned to civilian life, working diligently in several different roles, including factory labor and truck driving.
Edward had a deep passion for photography, which occupied much of his spare time. He also found great joy in riding and working on motorcycles, as well as traveling alongside his good friend, Ross “Mitch” Allison. A man of faith, Edward was saved at a young age. He was raised in the Catholic church, where he proudly served as an altar boy in his youth.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, William Taylor, and two brothers, Robert Taylor and John Taylor.
He is survived by his mother, Eva Taylor; two sons, Brandon Taylor and Benjamin Taylor; four brothers, Jim Taylor, Joe Taylor, William Taylor, and Charles Taylor; four sisters, Joyce Isaacs, Gail England, Patty Sossaman, and Barbara Seymour; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
