On July 17, 2026 a 911 call was made to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.  The caller stated that a person was drowning in the river.  Witnesses stated that they could see a woman holding her husband out of the water as she was screaming for help.  Bystanders helped pull Mr. Sherman Conder from the water and began CPR.  MR.    I spoke with his wife Charlotte, some time after his passing.  She said that Sherman cared about people and would want to leave something positive for them.  She said that Sherman would want to caution people about the dangers of water and the river specifically. An ordinary day can be turned upside down in only a moment.  Never swim alone, life jackets and floatation devices are always important, and always remember to respect the water while you enjoy it.
