New Mizzou starting quarterback Austin Simmons had an interesting childhood; his father described it as no days off when it came to his education. Simmons earned his associate’s degree by the time he was 17, reclassified by two years, and had his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi before he started his first game there as a sophomore. That has transferred over to the playing field; his ability to read the field quicker than most, to go with his explosive arm on a 6’4 215-pound frame, gives the Tigers a definite upgrade at the QB position.
