Acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter and American Idol Top Three finalist Jack Blocker will bring his authentic Texas sound and compelling storytelling to Fulton County on Saturday, August 15, as part of the “Stand with Dillon” Benefit Concert at the Fulton County Fairgrounds.
Blocker is quickly gaining recognition as one of the most promising emerging voices in Americana and country music. Known for his heartfelt songwriting, engaging stage presence, and deep connection to his Texas roots, his music reflects sincerity, tradition, and a genuine love for storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, Blocker describes his style as “friendly, honest, and Texan”—a sound that resonates through both his lyrics and the atmosphere of his live performances.
Whether performing energetic sets with a full band or intimate acoustic shows, Blocker has a unique ability to captivate audiences. His commitment to creating unforgettable moments is central to his performances.
“My goal is to give some new life to each song that only exists in that moment,” Blocker said.
One particularly memorable performance in Nashville highlighted that philosophy when lightning knocked out power at the venue. Rather than cancel, Blocker performed an entire hour-long set unplugged, as the audience lit the room with their phone lights.
“It was a really special evening,” he recalled.
Blocker’s debut album, The Land On Most High, is available now on his independent label, Elbow Grease Records. Recorded at Nashville’s renowned Sound Emporium Studio B and produced by Patrick Lyons (who has worked with Colter Wall, Josh Meloy, and Noeline Hofmann), the album establishes Blocker as a compelling new voice in the genre.
Describing the project, Blocker said, “The Land On Most High is a collection of nostalgic daydreams. It’s a picture painted using hundreds of small memories and moments—the driveway basketball games, motel naps, homemade slip ‘n slides, and trailside snacks that seemed insignificant at the time but continually return to mind.”
As he continues to build a loyal following, Blocker remains focused on authenticity, community, and creating music that resonates deeply with listeners.
“My hope is that the deeper I dive into my own memories through these songs, the more vividly each person listening will imagine theirs,” he said.
