Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is back with the team after tragedy struck his family near the start of training camp in St. Joseph. An undrafted tight end is looking to earn his spot on the Kansas City Chiefs after missing all of last season with a hamstring injury suffered just before the pads came on. Jake Briningstool has been competing with Tre Watson and Jared Wiley for a backup role behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray. Briningstool says it feels great to finally compete for a roster spot after missing his entire rookie season. He also relishes the opportunity to learn from Kelce, the tight end he says he has modeled much of his game after.
Offensive guard Kingsley Suamataia appears to have found his groove since moving from tackle to guard as he enters his third year in the NFL. After struggling and losing his job at left tackle during his rookie season, Suamataia moved to left guard after the Chiefs traded Joe Thuney and has shown the potential Kansas City hoped for. Suamataia says it comes down to feeling more comfortable at his position. The Chiefs’ offensive line is mostly set heading into the season, with a battle still taking place at right tackle.
