A woman wanted for nearly nine years on Douglas County drug charges has been returned to Missouri to face prosecution.
Authorities say 62‑year‑old Cheryl Roberts, of Antlers, Oklahoma, was arrested in Oklahoma on a Douglas County warrant and later extradited back to Missouri. The warrant stems from a September 2017 traffic stop in which Roberts and a co‑defendant were taken into custody and methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were seized. Roberts was booked and released at the time, but a warrant for her arrest was issued on October 30, 2017 after she failed to appear.
Investigators say Roberts had avoided apprehension for nearly a decade before her recent arrest. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Roberts is being held on $10,000 cash‑only bond.
