Four people were injured Monday afternoon in a single‑vehicle crash north of Dora. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 4:10 p.m. on County Road 14‑279, about five miles north of town.
Troopers report an 18‑year‑old man from West Plains was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon northbound when the vehicle crashed, resulting in total damage. The SUV was towed from the scene by Ed’s Towing. No safety devices were reported in use by any of the occupants.
A 16‑year‑old male passenger and a 17-year old female from West Plains sustained minor injuries, a 17‑year‑old female passengers, also from West Plains and a 20‑year‑old male passenger from Kansas City suffered serious injuries, all four transported to Ozarks Healthcare.
The 18-year-old driver was not reported injured but is facing several charges including, felony driving while intoxicated resulting in serious injuries, minor visibly intoxicated, operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner resulting in a crash and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Douglas County Jail.
