Mountain View Woman Arrested for Drugs and Endangerment

A Mountain View woman is facing felony charges after deputies say methamphetamine was found inside her home while children were present. According to a probable cause statement filed by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kory Taylor located a missing juvenile on August 15 and learned the child had run away because “Alicia and her grandmother regularly used methamphetamine in the home around her and the other children.”

Deputies went to the residence, where Alicia Dawn Sweany reportedly consented to a search. Inside her bedroom, Taylor found a broken piece of a glass smoking device with discoloration “consistent with smoking methamphetamine,” along with a straw containing residue that later tested positive.

Sweany allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine inside the home and keeping it in her dresser. Three children—ages 4, 9, and the juvenile who had run away—were reported to be living in the residence.

She is charged with endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs and possession of a controlled substance. Deputies noted she posed a danger to the victim due to knowingly possessing methamphetamine in the presence of children. Her Bond is set at $10,000.
