Howell County Presiding Commissioner Ralph Riggs announced today that engineers have identified a structural issue involving the top deck of the parking garage located on the west side of the Howell County Office Building.
As a precautionary measure, barricades have been placed to restrict parking on the north side of the parking lot. The public is asked to respect the barricades and avoid parking or entering the restricted area until further notice.
The safety of the public and our county employees is our first priority. We are taking appropriate precautions while we work with structural engineers to determine the extent of the issue and the best course of action.
The Howell County Commission will meet with structural engineers on Friday, August 21, to further assess the condition and receive recommendations for appropriate repairs or other remedies.
The Commission will provide additional information as it becomes available and appreciates the public’s cooperation while the area is being evaluated and repaired.
