An Ohio man who carried out a violent hostage incident in Mountain Grove on July 3 has now been sentenced in Wright County. Online court records show Daniel S. Mack entered an Alford plea and will serve two six‑year sentences concurrently for kidnapping and first‑degree assault.
Deputies say Mack arrived armed with a revolver, pointed it at multiple victims, struck one in the head during a struggle, and handcuffed another before driving off with a victim later released in Cabool. He was arrested in Butler County with a gun and handcuffs. Mack was sentenced to the Department of Corrections.
