Two Arrested After Douglas County SRT Serves Search Warrant Near Squires

During the early morning hours of August 25, 2026, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in southern Douglas County near Squires. Sheriff Chris Degase reported that methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized during the operation.

Two Ava residents—Cory Eugene Goodman and Marlin W. Andrews—were arrested at the scene. As deputies approached the residence, Andrews opened the door but refused commands to get on the ground and show his hands. Sheriff Degase removed him from the doorway and, with assistance from deputies, placed him in handcuffs on the deck of the trailer.

A warrant was issued for Goodman, 43, for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $15,000 cash only.

Andrews, 68, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $20,000 cash only.

Sheriff Degase recognized Sgt. Aaron Box for his time and effort on the case.
