Argentina soccer legend Lionel Messi announced he is retiring from international soccer.
Messi shared the news on Instagram and shared that he decided he was going to retire from playing for Argentina on July 21st, just two days after losing the World Cup finale. He also shared he felt even more convinced to be done on August 8th when his father passed away.

Messi played in six World Cups for Argentina and won the tournament in 2022 in Qatar. Argentina was the runner-up this summer to Spain.
He has the most goals in Argentina history with 125 and has also scored the most goals in South American history.
