MU Extension agronomy specialist to visit Ava Growers Market

AVA, Mo. — Area gardeners, farmers and landowners will have two opportunities this fall to get answers to questions about gardens, pastures, hay fields and weeds during the Ava Growers Market.

Joshua Dunn, a field specialist in agronomy with University of Missouri Extension, will be available at the market from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 3. Both sessions will be held at the gazebo on the Ava square.

Dunn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in botany and works with MU Extension to provide information and assistance related to agronomy and plant production.

Residents are encouraged to stop by with questions about their gardens, pasture or hay field management, plant concerns and troublesome weeds.

The visits provide local growers and property owners an opportunity to speak directly with an Extension specialist and receive research based information applicable to their own gardening and agricultural needs.

The Ava Growers Market is held on the Ava square.
