– Ozarks Healthcare and the Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce brought local business leaders and community members together Tuesday evening for a special Chamber Member Mixer, giving guests an up-close look at some of the advanced robotic technology helping transform patient care across the region.
Held in the main lobby of the Ozarks Healthcare campus, “Mix, Mingle & Meet the Robots” offered Chamber members an opportunity to network while learning how innovative technology is being used across multiple specialties at Ozarks Healthcare.
Guests had the opportunity to meet four advanced robotic and technology systems: the da Vinci Surgical System, Stryker robotic and navigation technology, Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy System, and MAKO SmartRobotics™.
“These technologies represent a significant investment in the future of healthcare in our region,” Terence Farrell, Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO, said. “We want our patients to know that they don’t have to travel to a larger city to access advanced technology and highly specialized care. We are bringing these capabilities right here to the Ozarks, allowing our providers to deliver more precise, minimally invasive and personalized care close to home.”
da Vinci Surgical System
Ozarks Healthcare recently added the da Vinci Xi Surgical System, expanding the hospital’s capabilities for robotic-assisted surgery. The system allows specially trained surgeons to perform complex procedures through small incisions using enhanced visualization, precision and control.
Robotic-assisted surgery can offer patients benefits such as smaller incisions, less blood loss, reduced pain and scarring, and potentially shorter recovery times, depending on the procedure and individual patient.
Stryker Technology
Ozarks Healthcare also utilizes Stryker technology to support orthopedic and spine procedures. Advanced navigation technology helps surgeons plan and execute procedures with greater precision, providing enhanced visualization and real-time information during surgery.

Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy
The Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy System is helping advance lung care at Ozarks Healthcare. The robotic platform assists physicians in navigating deep into the lungs to access small and hard-to-reach areas for biopsy and diagnosis.
The system provides enhanced precision and stability, helping physicians evaluate suspicious lung nodules and potentially identify lung cancer earlier.
MAKO SmartRobotics™
For patients needing joint replacement surgery, Ozarks Healthcare offers MAKO SmartRobotics™, an advanced technology platform used in robotic-assisted orthopedic procedures.
MAKO combines 3D imaging, personalized surgical planning and robotic assistance to help orthopedic surgeons perform procedures with a high level of precision. The technology is used for procedures including partial knee, total knee and total hip replacements.
