Funeral Services for Johnnie Ragsdale, Age 86 of Seymour, Missouri will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at The Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Seymour, Missouri. Johnnie Franklin Ragsdale, son of the late Robert and Sarah (Cole) Ragsdale, born March 1, 1940, in Marshfield, Missouri, departed this life September 2, 2026, at his home in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 1 day.
Johnnie grew up and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. On October 8, 1960, Johnnie was united in marriage to Alice Gallion. To this union, they were blessed with two children, Terry and Brenda.
Johnnie was a man of steady dedication and hard work. He spent 35 years working for MoDOT before enjoying a well-earned retirement. Alongside working for MoDot, Johnnie farmed for many years, raising dairy cattle.
In his spare time during his younger days, Johnnie loved coon hunting. In his later years, he happily traded the night woods for the comfort of home, where his recliner officially became his favorite hobby.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Ragsdale, one brother, Homer Ragsdale, one sister, Carleen Parrott, and one sister-in-law, Rita Ragsdale.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Ragsdale of Seymour, Missouri, two daughters, Terry Plummer and husband, Mitchell, of Seymour Missouri, Brenda VanCamp and husband, Bob of Liberty, Missouri, four brothers, Jerry Ragsdale and wife, Ingrid, Jim Ragsdale and wife, Gloria, Leo Ragsdale, and Bill Ragsdale and wife, Paula, one brother-in-law, Sam Parrott, one sister-in-law, Betty Jo Ragsdale, six grandchildren, Tausha Yarger, Mickey (Amber) Plummer, Brandon (Crystal) Bennett, Joey (Alyssa) Plummer, Whitney (Sam) Taylor, and Josh Plummer, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends all of whom he loved dearly.
Johnnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
