E C Dugger, son of the late Charley and Susie Dugger, was born May 11, 1946, in Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life September 4, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at 80 years of age.
E C grew up and attended school in Hartville, Missouri, and graduated from Hartville High School with the class of 1964. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Jones on May 22, 1965, and one son, Kenny, was born to this union. They lived in Lebanon, Missouri, for a few years and then moved to Springfield, Missouri, where they lived for the majority of their lives. E C worked most of his career as an automobile mechanic, working at a few different places before he opened his own mechanic shop for a few years. He then opened his own business buying and selling remanufactured auto parts. EC later suffered a major car accident that left him disabled and ended his working career.
As a teenager, E C worked at a pool hall in Hartville and enjoyed playing pool throughout his life. Later in life, he enjoyed coming back to Hartville and playing pool at the Senior Center. He always remembered his roots and came back to Hartville when he could, especially during the fall festival and special events. In his retirement years, E C enjoyed tinkering and staying busy, including remodeling and working on his house, and also woodworking. He also enjoyed going to auctions and couldn’t pass up a good deal!
E C was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He could be a little rough around the edges, but he turned into a big softy anytime the nephews, nieces, and kids in the family were around.
E C was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Susie Dugger, his loving wife, Ruth Ann Dugger, and three brothers, Veral, Gerald, and Fred.
He is survived by his son, Kenny Dugger and wife, Liz, of Ozark, Missouri, one brother, Donald, one sister, Barbara, and many nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends who will miss him.
