A West Plains woman was seriously injured early Thursday in an ATV crash southwest of the city.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 23‑year‑old was operating a utility‑type ATV on County Road 6980, about seven miles southwest of West Plains, when the vehicle overturned. The crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. on September 10.

Troopers reported the ATV sustained no visible damage and was removed from the scene by an unknown party. The rider, who was not wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
