Every baby deserves a warm start.
The Southwest Missouri Chapter of Newborns in Need is once again joining chapters across the country for the annual Sleepers in September campaign, collecting infant sleepwear to help provide warmth and comfort to babies whose families may be experiencing financial or medical challenges.
Throughout September and October, the local chapter is asking Southwest Missouri communities to help by donating new, gently-used or handmade sleepers. Pajamas, sleep sacks and other infant sleepwear that provide a safe, warm sleep environment are welcome.
While all infant sleeper sizes are appreciated, there is an especially strong need for sizes 0–3 months, 3–6 months and 6–9 months.
Individuals aren’t the only ones who can help. Churches, schools, businesses, civic organizations and other community groups are encouraged to host their own sleeper collection drives. Even a small collection can make a meaningful difference for local babies and families.
Those who would rather give financially may also donate through the campaign’s online giving option. Donations of any amount are welcome. When giving online, donors should designate their gift to MO Southwest so the donation supports the Southwest Missouri Chapter.
Where to Donate Sleepers
Donations may be dropped off at the Douglas County Health Department, 603 Springfield Rd.
Donations may also be brought to the Newborns in Need Southwest Missouri Chapter workday at the Catholic Church in Mansfield on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
