West Plains, MO. – What started as as a call of domestic abuse ended up leading to the arrest of the caller under the same charge.
The probable cause affidavit on the case states that on September 9th, the West Plains PD showed up at a residence to a call of domestic abuse. Contact was made with Melissa Sue Wise, born 1983 of West Plains, who stated that her husband had assaulted her.
During the investigation, Wise then stated that she had struck her husband roughly 15 times while he was seated in the drivers seat of a vehicle and that her husband had shoved her and struck back. When both individuals were examined for injuries, Wise was found to have minor redness on an arm, while her husband was found to have multiple injuries on his face, head and left forearm. In addition, video evidence was presented of the assault at a later time.
Wise now faces a charge of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.
