Mount Pleasant, AR. – A man from Mount Pleasant, Arkansas is facing multiple criminal charges after leaving the scene of a crash and setting multiple fires with intent to spread them.
The first set of charges stems from an incident on September 4th. The probable cause affidavit outlines that Brenson Seth Webb backed his vehicle into another before leaving the scene. Video evidence of the crash was also gathered, and Webb’s vehicle was shown to have no insurance at the time. In addition, Webb was stated to have been drinking and medicating while operating the vehicle.
Then, in a separate report of unlawful burning in Izard County the next day, Brenson was found. He admitted to starting 8 to 10 fires the night before in an effort to prepare hunting grounds, as well as hiding the truck on the property, knowing it was expired while apologizing for each incident. He also stated to knowing the county was under a burn ban.
Webb faces multiple felony charges now, including a count of unlawful burning, and three charges of criminal mischief. In addition are also misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated, fourth offense.
