On September 16, 2026, the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance in the Birch Tree area involving allegations of repeated threats and harassment.
During the investigation, deputies obtained statements alleging that John A. Waid Jr., of Birch Tree, Missouri, had made threats toward multiple individuals and continued unwanted contact despite previous court intervention.
Waid was taken into custody by the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Shannon County Jail.
Following review of the case, a warrant was issued charging Waid with:
Harassment – First Degree, Class E Felony
The court set bond at $5,000 cash only and ordered, as conditions of release, no contact with the victims and no consumption of intoxicants of any kind.
