A Celebration of Life with Military Honors for Gallen Elmos Runsick, Age 82 of Millington, Tennessee (formerly of Portia, Arkansas) will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 at The Powells Chapel, Evening Shade, Arkansas, beginning at 11:00 AM under the direction of The Barker Funeral Home, Salem, Arkansas.
Gallen Elmos Runsick, 82, of Millington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at home with his loving family.
Gallen was born September 11, 1944, to Elmos and Beauton Runsick in Portia, Arkansas. After graduating Sloan Hendrix High School, he worked the pipeline before proudly serving in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam. He had various mechanic jobs before beginning a dedicated career with the Millington Telephone Company for 18 years before retirement.
Gallen was known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and deep love for his family and the great outdoors. He was passionate about helping others and because of that, he was highly respected by all he knew.
Gallen is survived by his devoted “Love” Debbie Kinsey, his children Alan Knight of Covington, Tennessee, his Daughter Gayleen Davis (Michelle Owen) of Flippin, Arkansas, and his step daughter Eva McCord (Larry) of Millington, Tennessee, his grandchildren Mindy Knight of Covington, Tennessee, Kristina Patterson (Bobby) of Batesville, Arkansas, Robert Davis (Alex) of Washington D.C., Amy Mabe (Rob) of Trumann, Arkansas, Gretta Graham and Halie Graham of Millington, Tennessee, Robyn Johnson of Arlington, Tennessee, Great Grandkids include Caden Harrison of Dothan, Alabama, Brianna Hopper and Sallee Patterson of Batesville, Arkansas, Brycen and Luka Davis of Washington D.C., Dylan Cleveland of Millington, Tennessee, RJ and Rowan Mabe of Trumann, Arkansas, his Sister Mary Laman of North Little Rock, Arkansas and his Nephews Dennis and Doug Laman. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmos and Beauton.
