New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is believed to have suffered a more serious knee injury than initially thought.
Dart suffered the knee injury on the opening possession of Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach John Harbaugh said he thought Dart avoided a devastating injury but sources are now saying he could miss a majority of the year, or could face season-ending surgery.
Dart had more testing done on the knee yesterday, but the results haven’t been shared at this time.
If Dart can’t play moving forward, Jameis Winston would be the likely starter.
The Chicago Bears could be down to their third string quarterback on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Starter Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury and now backup Tyler Bagent who was expected to start is in concussion protocol. If he can’t play, the Bears would start Case Keenum at quarterback.
It isn’t known when Bagent was concussed but he was sacked on the final play of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings after taking over for Williams.
Williams is considered week-to-week and Bagent won’t be cleared to play until he passes the NFL’s concussion protocol.
