A Winona man is facing a felony charge after police say he assaulted a woman during an incident reported September 17. According to a probable cause statement, Officer Jeremy Sears responded to Highway 19 and found the victim in emotional distress and Michael Needles already detained by a state trooper. Needles reportedly told officers the two had been arguing before he got on top of her and struck her repeatedly.
Sears wrote that Needles poses an imminent threat of serious harm and requested a warrant. Needles is charged with Domestic Assault in the Second Degree his bond is set at $5000.
