A Willow Springs man was killed Thursday morning in a head‑on collision on MO‑95, four miles south of Mountain Grove. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 10:07 a.m. when a southbound 1999 Buick Century driven by a 19‑year‑old man from Ava crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan.
The motorcycle’s rider, a 68‑year‑old man from Willow Springs, was wearing a safety device but suffered fatal injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:54 a.m. His next of kin have been notified.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. Troop G reports this is the 23rd fatality of the year, compared to 26 at the same time last year.
