The Howell County Sheriff’s Department Reports that scammers are calling residents in Howell County and claiming they will be arrested for missing jury duty.
Some scammers are using the name of Captain Rick Fox to make the call sound legitimate. Captain Fox does work at the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, but he is not making these calls. Also, the courts will not call to threaten arrest for missing jury duty. If you receive a call like this, hang up.
