Congratulations to the Lady Zizzer and Zizzer Cross Country teams on an outstanding performance at the Marshall County Kentucky Invitational this past Saturday, Both girls and boys Zizzer cross country teams were meet champions. Hunter Stanley and Karbrynn Gunter earned individual championships. Next stop for the Zizzer cross county teams is Memphis, Tennessee, for the Frank Horton Invitational this weekend.
Jim Cox Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday Oct 17 at the Thomas F Benyo Municipal Golf Course in Willow Springs. It will be a two person 18-hole scramble tournament with a team cost of 80 dollars tee time of 11am and sign in will start at 10am to sign up you may call 417-469-1214 or there will be a sign-up sheet inside the pro shop.
Beginning this December, West Plains will take another step forward in its proud wrestling tradition, hosting a brand-new tournament that will bring together top programs from Missouri and Arkansas. The event will carry a name that already means so much to the community, the Dan Taylor Wrestling Classic.
Formed School League Basketball for grades K through 6th Registration is now open until October 18th! The season will be a guaranteed six game season with games on differing days of the week depending on the grade division. The registration fee per team is $225 per team and the registration is done completely online. Games will be starting the first week of November and for more info contact the West Plains Parks and Recreation Department.
Ava Country Club is hosting an 18-hole Cat-Dog Tournament on Saturday Oct 10th with a tee time of 9am, entry is 100 dollars per team and that includes a Lunch for the golfers. Sign up sheet inside proshop or call the Ava Country Club.
